St. Margaret of Scotland Catholic Church
This is a canonically erected Sodality, aggregating to the Prima Prim aria August 15, 1951. The members share in all the privileges and benefits granted to the Prima Prim aria Sodality of the Roman College of the Holy See. The purpose of the Sodality is to promote the greater glory of God and the honor of the Blessed Mother by the cordial and generous cooperation of all Sodalists in work for God, our neighbor and our Church.
Every Catholic woman or man, sixteen years of age or over, of St. Margaret’s Parish is eligible for membership in the Sodality. Membership is established by making application to the Director through the membership committee and after successfully completing the period of probation, being solemnly received as a member by the Spiritual Director. Probation begins with the application. Prior to the reception of the candidates they shall be instructed on the purpose of the Sodality, duties of its members, and the benefits derived from membership therein and shall fulfill any other requirements the Spiritual Director may see fit to impose.
We approach church members and ask them to join the Sodality. We also recruit by having announcements read from the altar and we also prepare inserts for the church bulletin.
Sodalists attend 8:00 a.m. Mass on the first Sunday of each month, followed by a 1 to 1 1/2 hour meeting in the Community Room. The Sodality Executive Board meets in the Rectory on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 5:00 p.m.
